I began scrapbooking the summer of 2004 with the help of my dear friend Brandi. I really had NO idea what I was doing but being the creative junkie that I am, I had to jump in on this ever growing trend!
I did all of the big no-no's. I cut my photos {gasp}, used all of the dainty scissors to chop the heck out of them, invested tons of $$ on those great 'deals' in the superstores for stuff I found I'd never {ever} use. Eh, lesson learned.
Not too much happened that first year, I realized that when I counted up how many layouts I had made for '04. Eight. Just eight. Kind of embarrassing now but hey, I was still a 'newbie'.
The next year took a long while for me to really get back into it. That didn't happen till towards summer when I found more scrappin' buddies. And still, I felt that I wasn't scrapping to my potential. My friend Rebecca always kept me on my toes with the latest and greatest, which therefore converted me to the product junkie that I am today! I may not have it but I sure can scout it out and tell you where to get it! LOL Of course this isn't always true...I couldn't even tell you the name of the papers in the layout I posted below! {later found out their MM papers}
I cranked out over double from the year before with whopping 19 pages added to my oldest daughter and my son's albums. Yep, just 19... though I thought *this* was great! A phenomenon!
After 2 years I have *finally* found my style, what makes my layouts me, what captures the stories I'm attempting to carry on for generations. It was worth those 2 years. Now, even having another baby this year I've still managed to almost double what I've done all of last year. I'm on track and am looking closer to my goal each day!
