Junk Box

Friday night I altered a Brie box. Yes, Brie as in cheese. My friend Jill is the 'Queen of Brie', seriously. She can bake a mean Brie! :) Mmmm. So, I had this left over wooden box from the Brie and I thought... "how appropriate, I should alter this for Jill".

So, she now has a cute little 'Junk Box' and the bottom label will remind her of her love for Brie! :) haha, it's all kind of funny.

Products Used:
American Crafts PP & Alpha Stickers
Misc. Button
Zig Pen & Signo Pen

I cut strips of the paper and curled them for the 'ribbon' as well as cut a 1/2 circle fan to cover a bare spot from the paper. It turned out really cute... and the bonus was that she loved it! :)

I got my CX Secret Sister package.... wowzers!! My SS totally outdid herself! Tons of stuff and I can't wait to use it!

And today I got my monthly DT kit. Lots of yummies to play with! It was a good week!

In the late hours

In the late hours of the night you can always count on finding me at my scrap table. I just work better that way...I'm such a nightowl!

So, this is what I worked on last night. A fun layout of my little man, using the Scenic Route papers. The arrow is used for my journaling which writes out the lyrics to the song, "You are my Sunshine".

The card is for a friend of mine who's birthday is today. I think she liked it...it made her smile this morning! :) Happy Birthday Nicole!

Card Challenge

Melissa over at LilyBean's Paperie posted a nice challenge. I HAD to join in!!!

The challenge was to make a card containing her favorite things:
Buttons
Polka-dots
ribbon
chipboard
a heart

Love this!

Ha!

I read that it was easy to cut this acrylic ... easy my arse!

It was a fun challenge... and after a trying experience I came out of it with 5 sheets for an album. I wanted to go for 6-8 but 5 will do! This was not easy, but still better than paying for a ready-made album at $25!!

Now just for the book ring holes and I should be good to go!

Have you tried one yet??

WOOT {again}!!

They say it happens in 3's right...

Just after seeing my name on the CPS list I got two emails from Basic Grey that two of my three submissions made it into their gallery!! WOOT!

So darn exciting! It seriously tickles my fancy. Seriously.

Here are the two layouts. The "Natural Beauty" layout is a few months old, one that I submitted into the DT call at The Crop Shoppe. I used the BG Blush collection and Fibers. And the "More than just friends" layout is one I finished this week. It is made with the BG Perhaps collection (paper, cardstock alphas, die cut tag).

WOOT!!!!

Wowzers was I excited to see that my "Boo" card won the Prism Papers prize pack over at CPS!!! HOORAY!!
There were 145 entries {glad I didn't have the job judging that one!).... so to win something is incredibly awesome!

I can't wait to see the Grand Prize Winners!!!

If you haven't checked out the CPS site yet, you should... they have awesome card sketches and their designers are amazing!

June Layouts

I shipped off 6 new layouts and 1 card to Scrapbook Central yesterday (they arrived today... 1 day, UPS rocks!!!). I loved all these layouts!!

Here are two; one from each line (Junkitz Fanciful and Doodlebug Designs)

I had so much fun with this month's projects!

Tonight I'm going to start planning for the clear album. I bought the book rings yesterday. So far my album has cost a whoppin' $2.30!! Can't beat it!

I think they've started to announce the winners at CPS. There were so many entries, I don't think mine have much of a chance. As a new card maker I didn't expect too much ... but it was fun entering! :) We will see.

That's about it for now... I have a few days to work on "me" layouts before I get my new kits for July!! :D

Wall Plaque

This is a wall plaque I found at Wal-Mart in the stationary isle clearanced down to a $1! The original covering was like wallpaper and peeled right off, it said "Dream". So, this is what I ended up doing with it! I used papers from Sassafrass Lass, Serendipity line. Other products used; Scenic Route Chipboard Alphas, Making Memories Clip, Boho Alpha Stickers, Prima Flowers, Misc. Fiber and Plastic Alphas from the Paper Studio.

Converting

Over the last couple of weeks I've started converting all of my albums from Post-Bound to the American Crafts D-Ring Albums. I managed to fit nearly 4 post-bound albums into ONE D-Ring! Amazing!

So far I've got the 'naked' albums. I plan to personalize them later on.

One w/ a Black Edge and one w/ Pink. Love these! Still want a Blue, Brown and Green! :)

Secret Sisters at CX

I joined in on the Secret Sisters for the summer round at Creative Express. Got all the goodies packaged up and shipped out today! Hooray! I can't wait to see what I get in the mail. Last swap (game) I particpated in I never got anything ... so I was a little hesitant to join, but after seeing how long all these gals had been w/ the board and seem to participate often I wouldn't get left high and dry!

Time for a change?

I'm thinking it's time for a blog change. New header perhaps? Template? I dunno, but something has to change! It's just so B-O-R-I-N-G!
