How could I have forgotten?!

My head has either been buried in the sand or up in the clouds this week so there's no wonder why I completely forgot to share some super exciting news!! My first project with The Scrappy Gourmet is up in the store and available! I was beyond tickled when I saw it in the booth photos from CKC Kansas but then to see it in the store... whoa!

These are just a few photos, more are on the site under the Secret Recipe Kits. This album was so much fun to make, especially working with everything you get with this kit...amazing!

Thank you to those of you who have had such nice things to say, it really does warm my heart!!

Is it Thanksgiving yet?

Because I really have so much to be Thankful for! It's so easy to forget how life can change with the blink of an eye and there's nothing like seeing someone you know go through something heartbreaking and life-altering. Staci C. lost her husband of 14 years this past weekend. There hasn't been a day go by since that she hasn't been in my thoughts. I can't imagine what she and her daughters are going through right now.

Hug your husbands extra tight this evening, give your kids extra kisses, read an extra book at bedtime and most importantly look them in the eyes and tell them you love them.

My heart goes out to Staci and her family. It's a long road ahead, but know that you are not alone. Hugs!

Oh, just one more

I forgot to post this last card, it coordinates with the other layouts previously posted also! These Deja View papers and embellishments are so nice!

Ahhhhh!

So glad to have finished two months of DT assignments this past week and this weekend! It always feels so good to complete a project! Today I cropped with a friend... it was a nice evening out, well, minus listening to some dirty-minded elders, lol! It was interesting to say the least.

This is what I've finished up to go with what I posted earlier;

And my Halloween Card...

I'm ready for Halloween and so are the kids! We had our Playgroup's 4th Annual party yesterday. So much fun! Of course, since I run the group I never get a moments rest, but I love it! It's such a joy to hear the laughter of so many kids. We ended up with 103 that attended... so you can only imagine how much fun that was! All of the kids went home with TOT pails/buckets FULL of treats and toys and the cutest ever Costume Awards! Aside from Christmas, it's my favorite party out of the 5 we host each year!

Well it's confirmed...

I really must be boring.... or I'm so predictable that none of my "facts" were random enough! lol

Oh well.

Had a nice day scrappy shopping. Bought the new Gretel line from Cosmo Cricket...so pretty! And a new Crop-A-Dile. So, I'm off to play and finish up some DT work!

Now this is entertainment....

I've been tagged.... twice in one day! How about that! I can't guarentee that this will be 'good' entertainment, but entertainment nonetheless. Thanks Melissa and Debbie for thinking of me! :D

Here are the rules for the 7 others that I'm tagging...

1. Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself (on your blog, we all want to know them).
3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
4. Let each person know that they've been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

And onto my random facts...

1) I met my husband very randomly online... 8 yrs and 3 kids later... still in love! :) When we think back to when we met it seems so strange that we found each other via the internet and created such great life together.

2) I will clean other peoples homes while they're not looking! eeekkk! No, I do not have OCD or anything like that, but I just like to help tidy up! I figure if it's a mess maybe they need an extra hand (at no cost, of course, lol!).

3) I got my first (and only) tattoo this year! Just something on my "things to do" list. No regrets... something to experience and I'm glad I did. Would I do it again? I've learned to never say never, but the answer today is not likely.

4) When I was little I wanted to be Wonder Woman. Seriously, I thought I really could fill the shoes of Linda Carter! I don't think my parents really thought they were enabling that perception by purchasing everything 'Wonder Woman' for me!! I have to say though, I looked pretty darn cute in that uniform when I was 4.

5) I love to cook and bake. I especially love the baking part! :) I would love to write up my own recipes some day.

6) I'm a "ScrapNerd". That term was so lovingly given to me by my husband. Eh, I kind of like it! ;) Not so much of a random fact.... the blog pretty much says that alone, right?! lol

7) I only sleep because I have to! Who said we need 8 hours of sleep? I'm fully functional on 3-4 a night... okay, well the fully functional part is questionable. ;)

Well, that was it. I hope you learned something new and I wasn't too boring!

And now I'm going to tag;
Jayme Downs
Tannis
Cami Bauman
Amanda Oates
Staci Compher
Elizabeth Carney
Darlene Brown

Off to have dinner with the kids and some friends. It's 'Kids Night' so I will be coming home with 3 kinds of animals or fairytale prince(ss'). They stick with the usual face paintings... I learned to keep the camera at home... now watch, tonight they'll pick something totally unexpected!

Waiting....

I'm waiting for it to cool down here. I can't wait to get that cool brisk air flowing through the house! There's nothing like opening up all of the windows and letting it flow through. Unfortunately, it's still not cool here. Actually, some folk would consider 72 degrees with 95% humidity "cool"... not I. That's Florida living though. I've lived here 11 years so I've really gotten used to the warmer weather, but I still miss the seasonal changes, especially Fall!

At least we can comfortably almost enjoy the outdoors all year round. Friday my husband and I spent the entire afternoon and most of the evening together, sans kids! We had a nice dinner out and then we walked and shopped the Town Center. We had a nice time but afterwards we both thought we should have stopped at the spa for massages... oh well, next time! I got to sneak out for a few hours and go crop with some of the girls in our scrappers group. I finished up two pages, both DT work for Scrapbook Central. I finished one other page later on with scraps;

Isn't that title so original?! I could not get that Eagles song out of my head, it was inevitable that it had to be the title (Witchy Woman). I think everyone is happy now that I've moved on to other songs! :)

Hope you had a great weekend!

Love this paper line!

It's so fall-ish! I'm working on one last layout this evening. I love how versatile they are. This page is of my oldest daughter's school field trip to the Pumpkin Patch last year. This turned out to be a great group shot!

Speaking of Fall, we finally hit the Pumpkin Patch today. Not once, but twice! Our first stop was for my son's VPK field trip. I took so many pictures, but he loves it... such a sweetie! He picked out a pumpkin for himself and one for his older sister (knowing the youngest would be there later on). After he was out of school we hosted a playdate there for our playgroup. I bought all 12 of the kids mini pumpkins and stickers to decorate them. They had such a great time! We have one more trip this Sunday for the Fall Festival and to pick out our carving pumpkins!

Finally, Pics!!

Wow, it's been a crazy week!
We had a tree company out here last Thursday removing some of our neighbors trees. One had fallen on our immediate neighbor's house, right through their dining room. I can't imagine walking in and seeing that (they couldn't see the back of the house or the broken tree from the front!). So, they decided that 4 of them needed to come down. Since it's so tight through here they had to use our driveway to access two of them. We were completely blocked in all day since they also used our front yard to cut the trees up. Nice! Look how close they were to my front and back doors!

Over the weekend my oldest daughter had two birthday parties to attend. So much fun! One was at Libby Lu.... they had a blast! The second was at a Pottery Painting place called Doing Dishes. She can't wait to pick up her Frog! Look at these girls... too cute! Mine is on the left!

I finally bought a pack of new rechargable batteries for my camera. That was overdue for sure! So, now I can post some of my recent layouts!

I had the bright idea to cut out this pattern, yeah...smooth move. It took me FOREVER! So, needless to say, I threw those alphas on there and called it a day! I still love it though! :)

These two I finished at Scrapfest.

And here's one I finished last night, this is one of many for my DT kits at Scrapbook Central. I love these papers by Déja Views, the Sharon Ann collection!
This is me with two of my younger siblings.

Blogging-Block

You know, it's like having writers block. I think you can actually go too long without blogging before it begins to become habit of not blogging, and after too long you feel like you have either way too much to blog about and it's going to be a pain to type it all up or you have absolutely nothing to say! (serious run-on sentence there)

Okay, so actually neither of those apply to me because I ALWAYS have something to say! (see, saying it right now and really ... without saying anything at all... make sense??lol). And I can never keep a story simple and short so, there goes that one.

There. That is how you make an update on your blog.

Now, onto the real stuff....

Went to an all day crop on Saturday, which was fun. A little bummed that my friend that I signed up with couldn't make it. She called just a hour before heading out...

Friend: "Sorry, I have to cancel the crop today!"
Me: "Oh no! Is everything okay, what's wrong??"
Friend: "I just gave birth a hour ago!!!"
Me: "OMG!!!!!!!!!!!"

So, just a couple of weeks early, and totally unexpected. I felt bad for going on without her, but I did think of her ALL day. And we did pay for the crop already so, I figured one of us should get our monies worth! Lukily a couple of girls from our scrapping group were also there so they saved me a seat. And I won two prizes while there! :)

I completed 2 layouts (yes, in 10 hours!)... and then after heading home I stopped by our scrapping group's monthly hostess crop and stayed there for 4 more hours. Getting very little done.

I do have a few layouts to share soon, as well as that sneak peek I've been taunting you all about!

Yikes!!

It's been a while since my last post...over a week? It can't be!!
The good news is, I finished my first project for The Scrappy Gourmet! I don't think I've ever over-thought or been as meticulous about something before as I did this. Hopefully I can show my sneak peeks soon.

I got my VERY FIRST EVER Pub request today! WOOOOOOIEEE!!!! It's for my "Happy Thanksgiving" card and it'll be in the Nov. issue of ScrapStreet Magazine! Look at my pretty image I made for my 'out for pub'... it looks very fallish, doesn't it?!

Tomorrow I'll be at an all day crop, I'm excited to work on some layouts. These pictures and new papers have been begging me to play with them all week long! Hope you have a great weekend... and please, take some of our RAIN again, it's been a yucky weather week!
