Today will be a treat!

I can't believe it's Friday already! Where did the week go?? Oh that's right, I have been working my little fingers to death all week on my first project for The Scrappy Gourmet...I can't tell you how much fun I'm having... seriously, I'm so happy how this is turning out. So, the world actually has been turning... I just haven't noticed! I hope to be able to show a little peek later this weekend.

I may have to leave the house for a while... treat myself since I've been so good at not procrastinating. Maybe Starbucks, lunch at Panera....mmmm, oh and gotta throw in some shopping!!

Hope you have an awesome Friday followed by a fabulous weekend!!

Weekend of Cards!

I have acquired SO many stamps lately and I finally sat down and used nearly all of them (or at least one in each set) this weekend. I love those little stamps from Studio G, perfect for cards. I also decided to use all scraps... I put a *little* dent in the scrap bag, so I'm happy. They're super simple cards, and range from 2-6 1/2 inches tall. Perfect for a little stash of cards for those upcoming events! We made 22 in all!

I really did have fun...and two of the kids had to make a card each for Daddy!!
I will show you all the cards... which two do you think were their cards??? They picked out which stamps to use, what papers and "embellishments". All I did was the cutting and adhereing. You can click on the images to enlarge.

*hint, they are side by side!

Quickie

I made a quick layout last night... shocker... it really was a quickie opposed to my 3 hour bits!

This photo is of me and my hubby (I really almost typed Scrubby but he's already threatened me! LOL), we had a photo shoot on the beach this summer. After I looked at the photo for one second I couldn't believe how similar of a photo it is to one on our wedding day. We were married on the beach in St. Augustine, it was such a windy day just like this one. We have the exact same pose on a boardwalk. He actually thought it was one of our wedding photos, the only thing that gave it away was the clothes! (we had a casual 'beachy' wedding... a hawaiian theme if you will).
Anyway, so here it is.

I've started my gallery back at 2peas. I joined it two years ago and had a gallery and posted to the forums but it was always some sort of drama with other people and I really didnt want to read or see it, so I deleted my gallery and stopped posting. I know I really need to get my gallery going again, so if you see me there say hi! :)

Tools!

I think I'm becoming some sort of tool junkie!!

In the past month I've acquired a Fastenator, the BG Notch & Die, MM Grommet Tool Set... My next new toy is a Crop-a-dile. I really need something 'silent' and a better hole punch for chipboard. And then it's going to have to be either a Cricket or Cuttlebug... I can't stand it anymore!!

What are your favorite tools?

Weekend Layouts

These are the two I finished this weekend. I also altered a letter 'M' that has literally been 'hanging' around my room for about 7 months half painted! lol
These two layouts are so funny because it is about 2 things you will ALWAYS see my DD#2 with; Babydolls and Juice!

This is her with one of her babydolls. She loves to kiss on them...she loves those babies!

This one started out as a 8 1/2 x 11 page but when I took the pic I needed something dark behind it and pulled out some black cardstock and wow, I loved it so much better this way! So funny how it worked out like that! And again, here she is with her juice box.

Can't I have a PJ day?

I really want to stay home all day and lounge in my PJ's! It's one of those gloomy, rainy days. I've already dropped the kids off at school, Pest-control has already been here this morning for their quarterly run and I just made my Caramel Latté (with sugar free caramel syrup). Since I'm working on eating healthier and 'lighter' I decided to give it a try... although it seems SO wrong to have a sugar free caramel latté... but it actually wasn't half bad.

Now I'm off to shower and head to MommyFit at the Mall and join our friends afterwards for a playdate. I have some layouts to share when I get home this afternoon!

Hope you had a great weekend... I sure did!

Charged and Ready!

Finally, my batteries are holding a charge! At least long enough to take some photos that I needed to take. I think I'll still buy a new set, if for nothing else but backup!

Here are two layouts I finished Friday night!

This is an older pic of when I was pregnant with my youngest DD. The kids would give her some love...so sweet! The journaling says "You were loved before we knew you"

And this is of my DS at the pool during the summer while on vacation. He would jump SO high up, we all had fun watching him and he loved listening to all of our "whoas"!!

That went fast!

Doesn't feel like the weekend should be over just yet. Yikes. Another full week of to-and-from schools, playdates, exercising and all the other exuberant chores of life! I cropped Friday night till about 4am with our scrap group. We had a fabulous time... all 15 of us! LOTS of yummy food, I could have ate all night but I was quickly running out of points! As long as I was there you'd think I would have finished more than 2 pages, but that's all I had in me.

So I guess you've noticed the new header by now! :) That only took me most of the afternoon to finish! lol I also had FUN making headers for both Staci and Jayme! Hope you both love them!!

I wanted to post my projects from the weekend but my camera batteries are refusing the charge. So, off to get new batteries tomorrow!

The smell of Fall

It was just a slight scent, but I know that smell. I walked out the back door to drop the kids off at school this morning and the mix of dew and a bucket of acorns they've collected hit me. You know, a cute little squirrel will be in heaven if he's brave enough to venture up four little steps to the stoop at my backdoor. I wonder how long it'll take one to find that bucket!

I'll share a card I made last night for a challenge Melissa posted on CX yesterday.

The challenge was to create a card with a Fall or Halloween-y theme. Must contain the color of Chocolate, Polka Dots, Brads and the use of Deco scissors!
What a fun, fun, fun little mix!

So, here was my take.

The colors aren't what I initially invisioned when I decided to go for the challenge, but hey, isn't that all part of a challenge anyway? I actually love the color combo of the Orange, Fushia(hot pink) and Chocolate!

How cute!!!

This is just the cutest thing ever! The Scrappy Gourmet has my character up on their website now. That's the pic I used --->

I think it's adorable!!!

Good Finds!

Yesterday was the day for two of our LSS's Yard Sales! I missed one of them but made it to the other. I brought home some good finds!

Fastenator
Krafter's Purse
Swatch Book of Rubons
Hole Punch
2 packs of embellies from Making Memories
Cutterpede Scoring Blade
MM Charm Plaques
2 packs of Scenic Route paper, chipboard, stickers and ribbon
And my DD picked up 4 sheets of stickers too!

I tallied up our finds to a retail cost of nearly $97 in which we paid $27!! How awesome is that?!

I have finished two layouts so far this weekend. This first one is of my 'Sweet Sin'... a caramel latté a day (keeps the doctor away??). This is my lovely Breville Espresso Machine ... I love this thing!!

And this layout is of my hubby and son. It was taken at Wild Adventures during the Spring. They were cuddled up after playing in the water all day. Such a sweet, loving pic!
